PGA Tour 2024 pt. 2

April 21, 2024

This week the PGA Tour played in a tournament called the RBC Heritage in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. The RBC Heritage tournament stands for the Royal Bank of Canada. They did not get to finish the tournament completely today but they will finish tomorrow. The RBC Heritage tournament is not a major tournament like The Masters but it is still a large tournament.

The RBC Heritage tournament is played at a course on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina called Harbor Town Links which is in a neighborhood called Sea Pines which has rentals for people who vacation there and houses for people who live there all year round. There is also an area with shops, restaurants, the lighthouse and different activities.

Reported from cbssports, Kyle Porter explained that there is $20 million on the line for the whole playing field but first place will take home $3.6 million.

The leaderboard as of today is Scottie Scheffler in first place at 20 under par and he still has three holes to play tomorrow when they finish the round. Second place is tied between Wyndham Clark who has finished all four rounds, Patrick Cantlay and J.T. Poston who both still have one hole to play tomorrow and Sahith Theegala who has three more holes to play tomorrow. Second place is sitting at 15 under par.

There is no definite first place winner of the RBC Heritage tournament yet but we can assume that Scottie Scheffler is going to win yet again. He is ahead by five shots with only three holes to go therefore most likely he will win the tournament, but anything could happen.

This weekend at the RBC Heritage tournament Scottie Scheffler shot 69 in the first round which is 2 under par, second round he shot 65 which is 6 under par, third round he shot 63 which is 8 under par, and for the last round he is 4 under par through fifteen holes. Scottie Scheffler has been on a streak lately and I do not see that stopping anytime soon.

The next tournament for the PGA Tour is the Zurich Classic of New Orleans in Avondale, Louisiana. Scottie Scheffler is not on the field list for this next tournament.

  1. Hi Danielle! I have been to Hilton Head Island before and it is beautiful. As small of an Island it is, the activities and places to go there are unlimited. It one of my favorite vacation spots to travel. I can only imagine playing golf there is even more better. I do not keep up with golf so I loved reading your blog and knowing the players a little more.

  2. Hi Danielle, this was interesting to read. I am not the biggest fan of golf, but I enjoyed learning more about the players. I also have been to Hilton Head Island and it is absolutely gorgeous, there is so much to do there.

  3. Good post with lots of information. Don't forget to add value. And for your source, give more information. Generally, you want the page/article title, the author, and the date, along with context if needed. (Who is Kyle Porter, for example?) Don't forget to include a source for your image, as well. Take your time and proofread carefully. Try to avoid the wordiness traps we talked about earlier in the semester--write clean and tight.)
